Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Database Developer to handle SQL and PL/SQL development, providing robust backend support for user needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing custom scripts, automating database management processes, and optimizing database performance. This role also involves creating and maintaining stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries in support of application development. The Database Developer will interface with customers and stakeholders, maintain database schema and design, and provide subject matter expertise on data ingestion processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL code to support backend reporting and user requirements.
- Create custom scripts to automate various database management processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and optimizing queries.
- Design, develop, and tune stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and queries to support application development.
- Interface with customers, users, and developers to gather requirements and provide technical support as needed.
- Maintain and update the database schema, database design, and transition development activities.
- Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on data ingestion processes from external sources, such as file systems.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Developer with expertise in SQL and PL/SQL development.
- Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and database design principles.
- Experience with stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and query optimization.
- Ability to monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues and implement necessary improvements.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with database automation tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with data ingestion from file systems and other external data sources.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database environments (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
