What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Mueller Brass Company?
Mueller Industries is seeking an experienced COST ESTIMATOR to join our team! This key position will create estimates for manufacturing processes in the Industrial Metals Group.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements in the form of blueprints, customer specifications, and industry standards.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes including planning, organizing and scheduling work and preparing bids, selecting vendors/subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
- Work with engineering across the Industrial Metals Groups to conduct special studies to determine feasibility, capability and to establish production standards
- Develop product cost to be used for customer quoting
- Work with sales department to provide technical support and project clarity during customer quote reviews
- Attend regular meetings to provide updates and status for ongoing projects
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and internal staff
- Blueprint reading with GD&T
- Knowledge of CAD packages (Solidworks preferred) and understanding of simulation software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software
Day Shift - 8:00am-4:30pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
