At Mulberry & Main, we are a family-owned and operated coffee bar, tap room, scratch-made kitchen, and vintage consignment destination in Brookville, OH. We aim to provide an authentic approach to coffee, beer, wine and provisions. Our Baristas are responsible for taking ownership of the details to deliver a clean, happy, and healthy experience for our team members and guests. The complimentary impression we want to leave on our guests is made possible by paying close attention to the details that bring our vision to life.
As a Barista you will:
- greet every guest with a welcoming and kind approach
- take guest orders at point of sale, with mindfulness to accuracy
- accept payments with high integrity and consistency to standard operating procedures
- prepare all beverages; coffee, tea, espresso-based beverages, and smoothies
- occasionally assist with pouring beer and serving wine (age permitted)
- learn the entire menu and dietary considerations to offer considerate customer service
- check on guests to ensure positive experience; explain menu items, encourage guests to try new things, recommend non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, sides, and baked goods to up-sell
- assist customers with coffee and espresso beverage education
- occasionally assist with drink specials and promotions
- pre-bus and bus seating at the bar, clean and sanitize to ensure proper pacing and service
- pre-bus and bus seating in the dining room and common use areas (water stations, trash cans, etc.)
- set-up, organize, and clean behind the bar to ensure proper operations
- complete all opening, shift change and closing procedures thoroughly with attention to detail
- label and store all food, food prep, dry goods, and paper goods appropriately behind the bar
- during shift change or closing; clean restrooms and remove trash
- manage par levels and track inventory behind the bar to communicate needs with the General Manager
- participate and track on-going training in your role to develop skill, consistency, and performance
- learn and adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook, training materials, standard operating procedures, and recipes guidelines
- contribute to an environment where open communication flourishes, feedback is valued, contributions matter, and guests/team members are respected
- keep the restaurant clean, organized, and guest ready
- assist in marketing and promotional events when applicable
- provide exceptional customer service to our BOH, FOH team members, and our guests
- comply with health code standards and cleanliness in accordance with Montgomery County’s Department of Health; ensure proper functionality and maintenance of all equipment
- arrive on time to work with a positive attitude
- other duties as assigned
