MCC is looking for a Training Specialist. As one of the core group members of the Training and Development Committee, the Training Specialist plays an integral part in the training and development of our Team Members. As the Training Specialist, you are ultimately responsible for the overall success of our technical training for our production team members.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety is the primary focus for the plant. Promotes and practices safety awareness and the proper use of equipment. Run tailgate meetings.
- Model the Corporate Values and Principles
- Aides in the overall effort to drive Consistent quality & delivery reliability as measured by KPI’s, through managing an effective training program.
- Coordinate and communicate with all production Managers/Supervisors and HR on training and development weekly priorities.
- Works closely with direct manager and training committee on training and cross training goals.
- Delivers hands on training as required or through delegation to technical trainers to ensure that production staff have demonstrated a working knowledge of applicable Task Breakdowns before being certified as competent in those skills.
- Attend and play an integral part in monthly training and development meetings
- Helps to assess performance of new employees and those listed on the weekly priority list.
- Maintains the Skills Matrix and relevant KPI boards to ensure visibility, transparency, and ongoing momentum of our training efforts and the engagement of our associates in their personal training efforts.
- Continually improve the training programs (CPO and general) for all production departments based on process or procedure changes and as required due to technology changes/additions.
- Ensure complete and thorough initial training of all team members during orientation
- Maintain tracking to ensure all tasks are carried out by properly trained and qualified team members.
- Ensure that all team members are recertified each year with all equipment that requires recertification.
- Audit technical trainers’ ability to train team members by performing mock training sessions and keeping track of task breakdown sign-off forms or competencies.
- Promote a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement by developing World Class technical trainers.
- Problem solving in conjunction with operators and team leads.
- DCU training for any team member.
- Maintain documents for employee career progression.
Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, etc. strongly preferred
- Proven ability to run a manufacturing operation required
- Lean manufacturing formal training and/or experience strongly preferred
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Experience using computers for mathematical equations, data entry, etc. required
- Ability to make decisions quickly that are rational, logical, and fact driven
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required – must be proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (utilization of formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
- Proven experience with Radius, SAP, or other Production and Customer Management System required
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., 50 feet in distance frequently; more weight in shorter distance may occasionally be required
- Proven experience leading, managing, and supervising others
