The Credit & Debit Cards Product Manager is responsible for growth, retention, and product development efforts for MECU’s credit and debit card program. This includes the implementation of product promotions, pricing and enhancements to drive volume that supports the company's overall strategy and goals. Key focus is to develop strategies that increase member penetration and card usage, driving existing and new marketing initiatives and focusing on target segmentation and analytics for the card portfolio. This individual will engage with cross-functional teams and develop new product ideas and features that help our members with their financial health and well-being.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Preferred; Specialization in Marketing, Business or Finance preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Management Required
Minimum 2 years of experience in Project Management Required
Minimum 3 years of experience in Marketing, Advertising Preferred

- Ability to proactively analyze and evaluate credit and debit card product performance metrics to form recommendations regarding market opportunities and product enhancements to meet established organizational financial and strategic goals.
- Data driven to develop portfolio analytics and make recommendations to improve the portfolio based on the metrics, including but not limited to: product pricing & profitability analysis, marketing and product sales results, credit card risk management, account holder behavior segmentation and related ad hoc reporting as warranted.
- Actively participates in Loan Pricing Committee. Provides recommendations on credit card pricing strategy. Recognizes, recommends and implements appropriate risk strategies which balance growth, risk and return.
- Develops compelling offers and partners with internal and external teams to successfully target membership prospects to optimize response rates and cost to acquire.
- Works with Marketing Communications to implement a comprehensive marketing and communication plan to support strategies and growth goals.
- Ability to develop new product requirements based on member needs, feedback from members, competitor and market analyses, and recommend enhancements to the existing products or implementation of new products to successfully compete for members' financial business.
- Gathers and leverages competitor trends, market research and member insights to enhance the credit and debit card programs.
- Works with manager to develop annual plans and ongoing forecasts, including identification of variances and development of corrective tactics as they develop.
- Works with the Compliance area as related to credit and debit card compliance requirements. Familiarity with laws and regulations with emphasis on BSA, Patriot Act, OFAC, Card Act and Durbin Amendment, Reg Z and Reg E. Consults with legal counsel when assigned and approved to research compliance related matters.
- Must be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of operational success in the credit and debit space, and be familiar with the areas of product development, acquisition strategies, portfolio management, and cross-functional collaboration and communication.
- Industry Awareness: Monitors key competitor and industry trends, tools and pricing.
- Trend Analysis: Reviews and interprets multiple data sources to understand over-arching product trends. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, working knowledge of Access is a plus).
- Technology Acumen: Understands how emerging technologies may be leveraged for the assigned product set to meet the needs of our members.
- Relationship Skills: Builds solid collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams and gain consensus on priorities.
- Financials: Recommends product marketing plan, tactics and resources necessary to achieve corporate and portfolio goals.
- Leadership: Interacts with senior management across the organization through written and verbal communications and presentations.
