Job Posting for Junior Project Manager - Website/Meetings Division (Portland Oregon) at Municode

Municode is looking for a hands-on project manager with great communication skills to lead all phases of our Meeting and Agenda Management projects.  In addition to leading project engagements, you may participate in ongoing customer support activities.  You will also provide input to the product development team as we implement new features and functions.   Join our growing team as we build best-in-class online solutions for cities, counties, and other government agencies.

What you will do:

  1. Lead Municode Meetings projects from start to finish.  You will manage all aspects of the meeting and agenda management project lifecycle including agenda template design, workflow definition, system configuration, training, go-live, and transition to customer support.   You will be responsible for keeping projects on-time and within scope.  Internally, you will communicate and coordinate with Municode’s business systems analysts and systems engineers.  Externally, you will act as the customer’s primary point of contact.  Our projects tend to be small in nature.  You will typically manage 10-15 projects in parallel.
  2. Facilitate customer decision-making: You will lead conversations with managers, clerks, and other key stakeholders.  You will act as a professional coach and provide recommendations to modify or optimize agenda templates and related organizational processes to better align with the new agenda management software.
  3. Configure software and provide training.  This is a hands-on role.   In addition to traditional project management activities, you will become an expert at configuring Municode Meetings, our best-in-class agenda management solution.   Once a customer’s site is configured, you will lead customer training sessions.
  4. Provide solutions to address customer requests.  As new and existing customers report issues or request new features, you will be a key member of the professional services team solving those issues and making suggestions for future product enhancements.

What you will bring to the table:

  1. Positive attitude.  You will have a positive attitude.  We are a solutions-based environment with a ‘glass is half full’ culture.
  2. Self-starter.  You will be inherently organized and motivated.  You will be trusted to proactively manage your own work and projects, and your team members will make sure you have been trained and are set up for success.
  3. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).  You are comfortable communicating with customers in-person, on-the-phone, via web teleconference, and via email.  You have a strong command of the written word.
  4. Skills and Savvy.  You can analyze requirements, recognize patterns, and develop creative solutions.  You are comfortable working with technology – specifically online systems.  While an interest in local government and civic engagement is not required, it would certainly be a bonus.
  5. Experience.  We are looking for a long-term fit and will consider all experience levels.  You preferably have at least two years’ experience working in a corporate environment.

Where you will work

You will spend most of your time working remotely from home or in our Portland, Oregon office.  Although travel is rare for this role, you could spend 5%-10% of your time making trips to client sites locally and around the country when it is safe to do so.

Why you will love it here

  • Our innovative, startup culture.
  • Excellent benefits including profit sharing and 401(k) match.
  • Flexible work hours.
