Primary Role:
A 4th and 5th Grade teacher follows the Florida State Standards and school curriculum to develop math lesson plans that will enhance student learning. Part of this includes aligning classroom management with school culture, creating a successful partnership and connection with students and families, as well as preparing students to show mastery of subject matter through state testing and End of Course (EOC) examinations. The teachers demonstrate the competencies, energy, and positive attitude needed to encourage and teach all students’ academic and social preparedness. MWA teachers support the core values, vision, and mission of the school.

Qualifications:
- EXPERIENCE WITH CHILDREN IS REQUIRED.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree or 60 credit hours. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Valid teacher certification in the subject and/or grade level for the state of Florida is preferred but not required.
- ESOL/ESE endorsed encouraged.
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Establishes a safe and orderly environment and a culture to empower students.
- Works collaboratively with school personnel to create a professional learning community.
- Develops goals and strategies through the school improvement plan.
- Collaborates with colleagues to mentor and support teachers to improve the effectiveness of department or grade level.
- Make sure instructional delivery is implemented as required: tiered differentiation and scaffolding are in place.
- Planning for an appropriate intervention program by the use of accurate data tracking.
- Assist students in social-emotional learning and growth of all students by aiding in problem resolution and self-regulation.
- Maintain a healthy and positive relationship with all parents, students, and staff.
- Maintain current and efficient records of student progress based on interventions including grades, progress reports, and tiered discipline.
- Selects materials and develops lessons that counteract stereotypes and incorporate contributions of all cultures.
- Appreciates differences and values contributions of each student by building positive, appropriate relationships
- Incorporates life skills: leadership, ethics, accountability, adaptability, personal productivity, personal responsibility, people skills, self-direction, and social responsibility, independence, and self-motivation.
- Regularly assess students with both formative and summative assessments.
- Attend staff meetings and offer constructive feedback. Participate in Professional Learning Community. Apply all professional development suggestions and requirements to better student learning.
- Demonstrate technology/instructional media competency to enhance student learning.
- Work with parents and guardians to promote positive behavioral support and a respectful-yet-nurturing learning environment for all students.
- Communicate and interact with others during academic planning and committee activities.
- Participate in and contribute to school-wide events.
- Participate in evaluative measures conducted by self-peer, student-teacher, self-administration, and administration-teacher.
