Entry-Level Political Staffer: Murphy Nasica is looking for eager young professionals to help inform voters on critical elections ahead of the primary election on May 7th. This is an entry-level position in the field of campaign politics & political consulting. Campaign staffers are a historic and critical part of the election process; and have helped shape the history of our country since its inception. Staffers have a tangible impact on any campaign and a good team can often be the difference between victory and defeat on election day. Successful Staffers are independent, detail oriented, and highly competitive. The professional political industry is a small world where reputation and work ethic can propel someone much further than any degree. This is one of the few industries left that the merit and quality of your work are truly the determining factor in how far you will go. Many people in this industry started at entry level positions and have progressed to be in critical positions both throughout the industry and in official positions in every level of government.

Entry-Level Poll Greeter Requirements:

● Must have reliable transportation around the district.

● Personable and willing to engage voters in a cold approach environments, often at events, over the phone, and canvassing door-to-door.

● Ability to be outside often all day (events and block walking)

● Must pass a background check and be authorized to work in the US

● Sales / Customer Service / field or campaign experience is preferred but not required

Entry-Level Poll Greeter Pay & Perks:

● $150/day for full-day shifts

● Fuel & lunch reimbursements can be provided on a case-by-case basis

● Growth and promotion opportunities and a chance to work on additional races throughout 2024 and future cycles.

Entry-Level Poll Greeter Duties & Responsibilities:

● Abide by all laws and regulations surrounding election activities

● Approach voters and hold pleasant, persuasive, policy conversations with voters about key issues. We will coach you on any relevant policy knowledge necessary

● Manage your own time to ensure you are able to execute any and all campaign tasks with diligence and to the highest degree of effectiveness, always conduct yourself in a professional manner when representing the candidate or campaign.

For decades the best way to ensure voters make informed choices about down-ballot candidates has been to simply have a polite, persuasive conversation with them about their State Representative, County Commissioner, County Judge, etc. In the modern world there is often a lot of misinformation flying during a competitive campaign. A staffer’s job is to help voters cut through that cloud and make an informed choice on election day that is best for their community. For that reason, Sales / Customer Service skills translate well in this role!

Experience or knowledge in any area of law or political science will also help effectively communicate relevant issues to voters. This job is a great way to make money while doing your civic duty!
