What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Sonographer/Echo Tech position at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina)?
Performs diagnostic echo/vascular ultrasound procedures as outlined in policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Laboratory, including but not limited to Duplex imaging and/or echocardiography. May be cross-trained into other areas in the department. Responsible for maintaining compliance with Intersocietal Commission of Accreditation of Echo/Vascular Laboratory standards. Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the department and provides care to these patients through assessment, observation and documentation. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Work is primarily independent.

Education:
- Graduate of state accredited school of radiology technology with current or pending registration, graduate of state approved school of professional nursing, graduate of accredited echo/vascular school or licensed practical nursing with current or pending registration
- RVS/RDCS or equivalent required
Experience:
- Previous experience in cardiovascular diagnostic testing required.
Licenses/Certificates:
- RVS/RDCS/RVT or equivalent.
- Current BLS
