Guitar Teacher

We are looking for highly talented GUITAR instructors who live in the Port Saint Lucie/Palm City area. The Teacher MUST have reliable transportation & a willingness to travel to the students houses in order to teach one-on-one music lessons. Students age ranges are from 5 & up.

Qualifications include:

• Contractor Position
• Mandatory Probationary Period of 60 Days for ALL new instructors after training period has ended before receiving your full hourly compensation.
• Willing to work afternoon/early evening hours during the week (at least 1-2 days per week).
• Interpersonal Skills- Must be able to connect with people of all ages and skill levels.
• Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
• MUST have reliable transportation to and from students houses for doing traveling lessons.
• Must have a clean and organized home studio, free of distractions, with a quality instrument to teach on “if” you plan on having students come directly to you.
• Must have a quality internet provider and camera set up “if” doing virtual Zoom lessons. Home Studio will still need to be clean, free of distractions, with a quality instrument to teach on.
• Must be able to present yourself in a professional manner. This includes a clean and well-kept appearance, semi-casual business attire (we can provide you with company polos), being on time for your scheduled lessons, and not calling out last minute for your scheduled lessons.
• Degree in Music Education or Music Performance is NOT required but is always a plus! All applicants must be proficient in technique, reading music, rhythm, and have a basic understanding of music theory.
• Must be able to demonstrate teaching ability or instrument skill level during an interview.
• Open to first-time teachers and experienced teachers alike. If you have never taught before, you will be required to ride along and shadow one of our instructors. $15.00 Hourly Compensation will be offered for your training time.
• Must be willing to give a minimum of a 1-year commitment to teaching with us.
• Must prepare students for our live holiday and spring recitals that take place each year.
• The ability to teach on multiple instruments is always welcome.

About Us

Musical Advantage is a home service lesson provider who teaches primarily piano, guitar, drums, & strings. We do offer 3 types of lesson services which include:

• Traveling lessons (Most Popular)
• Virtual lessons via Zoom
• In-home studio lessons (student comes directly to the teacher)

Our Traveling lesson services have become a customer favorite due to this “old-school” way of teaching becoming more and more diminished since the inception of music/lesson schools opening all over town. What can be more convenient and safer for our students then meeting with their instructor face to face, in the comfort and convenience of their own homes and on their own instruments? This premium service offered is one of the amazing ways in which we at Musical Advantage form lasting bonds between our students and parents! We offer these traveling lesson services throughout the treasure coast region in areas such as: Jensen Beach, Stuart, & Hobe Sound. But we primary focus our lessons services in the Palm City, Port Saint Lucie, & Tradition area.

At Musical Advantage, we realize that students can only thrive in an environment that they feel inspired and excited to learn. We are not cookie cutter in our approach to teaching and believe that every student should be related to in a unique and fun way! In addition, we are passionate about giving our students ample opportunities to perform in a fun, safe and uplifting atmosphere. These performances include local talent shows and at least two formal recitals a year.
