Musical IQ, founded in 2006, is an experiential education company which develops and runs interactive music and drumming programs for NYC DOE schools, after-school, camps and a variety of other youth and community centers. Our mission is to build high impact and meaningful experiences for students which will enrich their lives, broaden their horizons and inspire exploration into the wealth of possibilities which life has to offer. Our material covers music theory, music appreciation, musical culture, history and life skills.

Accepted candidates will need to be available for multi-day training to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to become a Musical IQ facilitator.
Responsibilities
Facilitate drumming programs for kids ages ranging from pre-school to high school in group sizes of 20 to 60
Lead 45-minute drumming workshops with in-depth curriculum and training provided
Possible transport of musical instruments between sites
Job Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching in classroom or group settings
Formal music training or ability to demonstrate musical skills and capability on drums or percussion
Excellent communications skills
Attention to detail, organization skills and time management
Professional, outgoing and charismatic
Coachable and willing to learn
Team player mentality
Flexible availability preferred
Ability to handle unexpected and/or challenging situations
Job Requirements
Fluency in English
Ability to commit a minimum of 2 to 3 days a week
Professional presentation following company dress code
Ability to travel throughout 5 boroughs (options for with or without car)
Ability to dedicate time to training and learning curricula content
Drum and Percussion Experience a Must
