What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator position at Musselman & Hall Contractors?
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for handling the day-to-day administrative needs of the Safety Department.
Essential Functions
- Orders, maintains, and tracks safety equipment and PPE usage
- Ensures compliance with contractor management platforms such as ISNetworld and Avetta
- Coordinates M&H and third party training such as Orientation, eRailSafe, and Avetta
- Maintains Safety and Risk Management data, information, and metrics
- Aids Project Managers and Estimators with safety submittals and pre-qualification questionnaires for customers
- Monitors internal dashboards for safety compliance including job setup, fleet telematics, and training
- Maintains driver qualification files
- Delivers a high level of service to employees and leaders
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and in accordance with Musselman and Hall policies and values
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, ability to meet deadlines, and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with (or the ability to quickly learn) OSHA and DOT laws and regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite, as well as proficiency with (or the ability to quickly learn) the organization’s ERP system and various web platforms
Experience & Education
- Experience in workplace safety, construction experience, or education in workplace safety is preferred
- OSHA 30-hour or other construction safety training preferred

- Ability to spend prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Other Requirements
- Full time hours required; most work will be performed on weekdays during normal business hours
- Some travel to M&H office locations and/or job sites may be required
