Sprayer Service Technician

Purpose:

Responsibilities:

• Performs complex diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment with a heavy focus on sprayer and Commercial Applicator equipment and Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products
• Participates in John Deere University training and dealer-led training to further the development of skills and knowledge
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work order and assignments
• Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties
• Provide an exceptional customer experience
• Other appropriate responsibilities assigned by manager

Requirements:

Education & Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
• Basic Service Technician certification preferred

Technical Knowledge

• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Strong work ethic with high ethical standards
• Ability to self-motivate and have the confidence to achieve results
• Valid driver's license is required
• Forklift license preferred

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and obtain Medical Examiners Certificate may be required.
• Ability to reach, kneel, bend, twist, and stoop as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
