MVB Financial Corp. This role can be based 100% remotely.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Establishes long-term vision and develops strategies for the Information Technology department and initiatives that support MVB’s ongoing business operations and strategic plan. Directs the planning and implementation of enterprise systems and architecture to support business operations, with a focus on compliance and regulatory needs. Implements IT capabilities that provide a competitive advantage for MVB and is ultimately accountable for all aspects of the organization’s information technology infrastructure.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Collaborate with members of the leadership team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals. Maintains a solid understanding of the entire IT infrastructure and communicates technology needs, goals, and decisions.
- Oversee the IT department(s) and sets strategy and direction for the department. Organizations change overtime, but areas of responsibility within the department are expected to include:
- Infrastructure and Network Operations
- Information Security
- Business Continuity
- Software Development
- Architecture
- Data
- Partner with business leaders across the organization to set the overall company technology strategy.
- Assess, maintain, and upgrade current IT and data systems and processes.
- Develop systems and acquires software and hardware necessary to meet the company’s needs.
- Identify new IT developments and technologies; anticipates resulting organizational modifications.
- Lead IT team engagement in design and customization of technological systems and platforms across the company.
- Ensure that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the company’s computing, data processing, and communications needs.
- Develop and implement the IT budget and approves software/IT-related purchases.
- Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate goals, projects, and timelines of the company to the department; plans ways to execute those goals within the department.
- Maintain and develop IT policies, procedures and best practices for the company.
- Lead governance of IT related policies, procedures and best practices and represents the company in IT related regulatory compliance.
- Oversee relationships with vendors, contractors and service providers.
- Consult with the board of director and other executives the benefits and risks of new IT-related projects.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- University degree in the field of computer science or business administration and a minimum of 15 years of work experience.
- Master’s degree in either of these fields or Master of Business Administration with technology as a core component preferred.
- Strong business orientation with broad experience in banking.
- Experience managing IT systems and data in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience providing IT systems to a highly distributed workforce that is located in numerous small offices across the bank’s footprint, and a remote environment. In-depth knowledge of IT systems and architecture.
- Skilled at identifying and evaluating new technological developments and gauging their appropriateness for the bank.
- Ability to conceptualize, launch, and deliver IT projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to source and evaluate technology solutions and vendors. Proficient at negotiating favorable long-term contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a budget to maximize positive impact to the bank.
- Ability to function in a leadership role for responsible areas and be able to interact with all levels of staff to effect positive changes.
- Demonstrated ability to bring the benefits of IT to solve business issues while also managing costs and risk.
- Strong organizational and management skills to supervise a centralized IT strategy over a highly distributed office infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide system selection and implementations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting skills combined with the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of information systems technology subjects and extensive knowledge of hardware and software with the ability to keep abreast of new technologies.
