Server Administrator

THIS POSITION IS IN GRANITE FALLS, MN - Alongside the Network Systems Manager, the Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the server infrastructure, including building, designing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the organization's complete network and internet systems.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Operations Manager

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain overall datacenter functions. This includes manage, administer, plan, and implement server, storage, and network infrastructure.

· Setup, install, maintain, and administer existing and new servers, network, and software.

· Develop and implement strategies for system backups.

· Desktop support for higher level troubleshooting of network issues.

· Develop, implement, and monitor network security as well as troubleshoot network issues.

· The ability to monitor the network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to assure network availability.

· Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Four (4) year college degree in computer science or related field and 2 years of experience in infrastructure management in a business environment.

· Or two (2) year Associate’s degree in computer science or related field and 4 years of experience in infrastructure management in a business environment.

Experience in a business environment directly administering server, storage, and network infrastructure.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

· Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

· Experience in a business environment directly administering server and storage. Infrastructure such as and Microsoft Server Operating Systems, CentOS and Linux.

· Experience with administering Network Equipment (switching, routing, VLAN, VPN, Wireless).

· Experience with administering network Security Appliances

· Experience with network security.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Working knowledge of email messaging technologies.

· Working knowledge of network infrastructure, firewalls, network security, server hardware, and storage infrastructure.

· Working knowledge of database technology.

· Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware problems related to the server, storage, and network infrastructures.

· Ability to work and communicate effectively with co-workers, computer users, and vendors both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to deliver excellent customer service.

· Ability to maintain regular and timely work attendance.

· Requires independent judgment, excellent communications, and documentation skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Normal office environment which will include:

· Sitting

· Lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Standing

· Bending

· Typing

· Answering phones for extended periods of time

Job Type: Full time

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00
