Mycrodose Therapeutics is San Diego-based pharmaceutical company specializing in the development of advanced drug delivery systems utilizing psychedelic compounds to treat mental health conditions, cognitive degenerative diseases, and alleviate the adverse effects of radiation/chemotherapy for cancer patients. Mycrodose has been granted a Schedule I License and been approved by FDA, DEA, and State of California Attorney General's Research Advisory Board to research four (4) psychedelic compounds: psilocybin, LSD, MDMA, and DMT, along with Schedule III licensure for ketamine. Mycrodose will be a cGMP manufacturer and producing pharmaceutical products for FDA approved clinical trials within six months. Mycrodose is a small upstart laboratory currently focused on producing one to two products per year for clinical trials.
Lab Technician Tier I General Job Description
Mycrodose is seeking a Lab Technician Tier I who will assist multiple departments, including R&D, manufacturing, analytical, and skin study. Under general supervision, this person will be responsible for maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies in a high paced laboratory. The job duties change day to day based on the laboratory’s needs and candidate’s skills and experience. For example, duties will cross over a multitude of categories such as permeation studies, sample preparation, drug delivery system development, adhesive studies, HPLC analysis, HPLC sample preparation and a variety of other tasks.
This entry level position is ideal for a hard worker with initiative and interested in working with a team of scientists researching and manufacturing unique pharmaceutical products. The ideal candidate must be flexible, able to take verbal and written direction from multiple supervisors, be able to prioritize assignments.
Lab Technician Tier I Job Responsibilities:
- General cleaning and maintenance of laboratory and work area
- Clean and sterilize glassware and other laboratory equipment
- Clean, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot standard lab equipment
- Assemble, disassemble, rearrange laboratory supplies, including furniture
- Receive, check, and sort receivables, other than production materials
- Inventory and maintain supplies in lab, other than production materials
- Under supervision, may assist in performance of laboratory tests or analyses
- Under supervision, formulate various buffers and reagents
- Under supervision, formulate HPLC standards
- Dispose of non-pharmaceutical waste and recycled materials daily
- Assist analytical, biological, and manufacturing departments
- Any other project/tasks assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Associates or Bachelors degree (chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related scientific field) or high school degree with 1-2 years of experience working in a lab
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Teams
- Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment (up to 50 pounds), standing for long periods of time (up to 6 hours per day)
- Awareness of health and safety hazards in working with or near chemicals or contaminated materials·
- HPLC experience, preferred but not necessary
- Agree to alcohol/drug testing
- Pass a mandatory background check
