American Express is looking for an ambitious Software Application Developer in the Global Risk & Compliance Technology (GRCT) organization. GRCT provides Technology solutions for the Global Financial Crimes Compliance Business starting from the acquisition of a customer and throughout the life cycle of Customer Management. This position will be engaged to work on our Second Line Platform Modernization initiative, delivering software and application capabilities for our business and product partner teams.

The Senior Engineer in this role will perform aspects of software development for assigned applications including design, developing prototypes, and coding assignments. Function as a leader on an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation). Conducting code reviews and following a test driven design approach to deliver software that is fully tested via automation. Debugging software components and identify code defects for remediation. The Engineer will collaborate closely with product and business partners to understand the approach and craft a system that fuels future growth and expansion through reusability.

The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar field and proven Web development work experience. Expertise with Kotlin, React, HTML5, CSS3. Expertise with developing REST APIs. Detailed understanding of JSON, Web Service technologies, and data structure fundamentals. Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and test automation. Understanding of networking principles, performance testing, CICD and DevOps. Be self-motivated, able to collaborate and get results. Be curious, and have an ability to experiment with, learn and apply new technologies quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A shown ability to solve technology problems and the ability to influence and optimize guidance from key partners. Finally, a passion for shipping quality software fast and frequently with keen attention to detail.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits
