About the Role:
The Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing the engineering and procurement support aspects of solar PV, energy storage, and electrical substation and transmission EPC projects nationwide. The Senior Engineer will support estimating, procurement of engineered equipment, environmental permitting, and right-of-way management, in addition to engineering activities from bidding to project closeout. This position is responsible for overseeing the engineering of the work, including support for the Owner’s design reviews, support during construction and startup, and submittal of the final “as built” design documents.

Essential Functions
- Understand and prepare proposals for Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) solar PV, energy storage (BESS), and electrical substation and transmission projects
- Manage all detailed design engineering subcontractors, as well as coordinate with field staff, as necessary
- Support engineering services, engineered equipment and material procurement activities
- Interface with equipment vendors to research and confirm equipment applicability to project scope and schedule
- Prepare conceptual designs and plans to meet customer requirements, with consideration for cost, schedule, and technical application
- Coordinate these plans with the Chief Estimator to ensure all details are included in the bidding process
- Monitor engineering, environmental permitting, geotechnical, and other profession service providers as necessary, coordinating these activities with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager
- Other duties as assigned

- Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other discipline with significant electrical utility experience
- Professional Engineering license preferred
- Minimum 5 years of design, engineering, or project management experience related to solar PV, energy storage (BESS), or electrical substation and transmission
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Experience with PVSyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS CADD, and power system software is highly desired
- EPC project experience preferred
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and interfacing with customers is highly desired
- Ability to understand and review project drawings, permitting reports, and other technical documentation a must
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
- Team player who can successfully work with diverse internal and external partners
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary commensurate with experience with weekly pay. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
- Two days per week remote work option for non-field roles depending on position and performance.
