Technical Specialist I/Application Configuration Analyst I
Location - Akron, OH, Reading, PA, or Greensburg, PA
Position is Contract to hire. The location will be a combination of on-site and remote, candidates will need to be local to one of the locations listed above.

Participate in the entire maintenance and enhancement lifecycle of Client's application systems including automated metering infrastructure (AMI). In addition, participate in relevant projects.

Summary of Responsibilities:
- Implementing innovative solutions to enhance software applications. Activities typically include:
o Ability to learn to configure vendor provided application solutions
o Understanding technical specification documentation, solution architecture documentation, software configuration, and debugging
o Executing comprehensive unit test plans, developing test cases, assisting with integration, and completing system test plans
o Unit, integration, performance and stress testing support for application enhancements, upgrades, and patches
o Troubleshoot functionality for issue identification
o Providing production support of implemented functionality
o Learning electric utility related business processes
o Becoming proficient in software configuring on the supported software applications and related tools
o Investigating and resolving problems with supported applications in a production support environment
o Working with guidance of other IT personnel to resolve problems and analyzing overall conditions that may affect business operations
o Acquiring and applying new skills
- Documenting processes/procedures and specifications for peers.
- Working with business analysts to support requirements definition and test scenario identification.
- Participating on projects involving multiple IT groups, business groups, and software vendors.
- Consistently delivering high quality results.

Summary of Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, a related degree, or commensurate experience.
- 0-2 years experience working as an IT technical professional enhancing software applications through configuration
is a plus.
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL, and Teradata), including reading and revising data through software applications is a plus.
- Knowledge in areas such as security, network, integration, and mobility is a plus
- Analytical skills to resolve problems and think creatively.
- Willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, with the aptitude to learn quickly.
- Ability to learn new concepts in information technology, learn the characteristics of new systems and update skills to adapt to changing technology.
- Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to make presentations to various audiences, the ability to express difficult and complex concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Highly motivated to work independently and productively but also able to work in a virtual environment (working with remote co-workers using virtual technologies).
- Ability to meet established priorities and schedules, and willing to undertake assignments involving multiple tasks.
- Experience with utility industry knowledge, advanced metering infrastructure, and software application configuration a plus.
