GENERAL SUMMARY

The Warehouse Specialist supports ice production operations. The position is responsible for production, inventory, and receiving functions. Ensuring production requirements are satisfied following safe work practices. Will operate and maintain a forklift as part of routine responsibilities.

The scope of responsibility in this position includes the following primary functions:

• Operate and maintain forklift, loading and unloading trucks.
• Load and unload production machinery.
• Pack/stack ice bags on pallets.
• Place and retrieve inventory in warehouse with a pallet jack and or forklift.
• Maintain logs and sanitary conditions at an ice manufacturing facility.
• Maintain the plastics and ancillary packaging inventory and report at month end.
• Operate shrink wrapping unit on full pallets.
• Label fully packed pallets.
• Document all products being shipped with the proper BOL.
• Abide by all Company safety policies and practices.
• Assist in plant cleaning and organization.
• Support plant operations and maintenance as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Warehouse Specialist reports to the Plant Manager and cooperates with all site personnel relative to the receiving process and inventory control.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical requirements may include standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection and high voltage protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties. Work with hazardous materials may be required.

Position may require extended working hours with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and project conditions.

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes pre/post-employment physical examinations and drug screening.

COMPENSATION

Compensation range for this opportunity is $15.00 to $24.50 per hour

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• OSHA forklift driving certification is preferred
• Experience driving a forklift in warehouses and manufacturing areas 
• Experience working in a food manufacturing facility a plus
• Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment
• Possess or ability to obtain FDNY Certificates of Fitness as required by Management
• Ability to complete preventive maintenance following OEM instructions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid driver's license required
