Job Description
We are seeking a Pasta Cook to join our dedicated kitchen staff! You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in our professional kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare all served food
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
- Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
- Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
Qualifications:

- Have one year experience in restaurant and food service
- Have CA Food Handler's Certificate
- Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques

The successful candidate must have availability to work 4 shifts a week, typically about 6 hours from 4 to 10. The candidate must be able to receive pasta and salad orders as they come in and cook, plate, and/or package orders in a timely manner, typically within 15 to 20 minutes. Our guests eat with their eyes first, so plate appearance is paramount! Candidate must be comfortable working with a 6 burner stove, stand for several hours at a time, and be able to reproduce recipes as we make our food from scratch daily. Position also requires end of shift cleaning and light prep to set up next shift for success.

Pay: $16.00 - $18 per hour plus tips and meal
