What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Recruiter position at Nash UNC Health Care?
The Physician Recruiter will lead the development and implementation of creative recruitment and sourcing strategies in order to attract, screen, recruit and select highly qualified, diverse candidates to fill Physician and Provider opportunities at Nash UNC Health Care. The Recruiter is responsible for prospecting and acquiring leads, screening potential candidates for best fit, coordinating site visits and involving existing medical staff in the recruitment process.
Description of Job Responsibilities:
- Execute provider recruitment activities accordingly to the medical staff development plan / physician needs assessment.
- Serve as the on-site coordinator and single point of contact for all provider recruitment activities.
- Work with recruitment firms and/or network recruitment, as needed.
- Ensure that all responsible parties are performing their assignments per the recruitment checklist.
- Ensure that all provider candidates have a high-touch and organized experience including the development of interview and visit itineraries; coordinated travel, hotel and dining arrangements; be responsive to candidate inquiries via telephone and email; assist with formal job offer process so that it is organized and timely; ensure recruitment process is fully closed on each candidate.
- Participate in recruitment fairs and events as appropriate.
- Work with Nash UNC Health Care’s executive team and Medical Staff Development Committee of the board of commissioners to ensure recruitment activities align to hospital’s strategic plan.
- Coordinate and conduct interviews of all provider candidates.
- Participate in the onboarding process of new medical staff.
- Report professional observations, candidate feedback, and recruitment workflow optimization needs to leadership.
- Document all activity into recruitment activity tools, and submit monthly report to leadership.
- Meet regularly with Nash leadership and Network Recruitment office staff to ensure recruitment efforts are prioritized and fully executed.
Education, Licensure, Experience, and Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years healthcare recruiting experience preferred
- Sound decision making ability

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Superior sales skills to close provider contracts
- Independent and motivated individual who requires minimal supervision
- Aggressive with strong desire to succeed, goal oriented and proven past experience to compete and thrive in a challenging environment
- Must be a self-starter.
