Position Title: Recruiting Coordinator
Department: Human Resources
Supervisor: Chief Human Resources Officer

Description: The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level with a focus on recruiting and onboarding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the onboarding and recruiting processes;
- Oversee the offboarding process;
- Conduct candidate phone screens as needed;
- Extend employment offers;
- Maintain the applicant tracking system;
- Present weekly new hire onboarding classes;
- Schedule and attend community job fairs;
- Track various employee related items including mandatory (and other) training, vaccinations, company issued items and coordinate with related vendors;
- Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from the database;
- Oversee employee event planning;
- Track and coordinate non-insurance benefits such as tickets (zoo and local events) and assist with employee welfare events;
- Draft and design employee flyers and posted communications;
- Oversee the staff communication portal;
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
- M – F, 8AM – 5PM;
- Weekend rotation required during peak season (March - October);
- Must be able to attend after-hour staff and zoo events as needed;
- Must be able to adjust work schedule as needed.
Skills & Competencies:
- Must be able to build healthy, professional relationships with job candidates and employees;
- Solid understanding of HR and employment law concepts;
- Ability to accurately process data and self-review work;
- Ability to learn various third-party systems used to streamline many HR admin functions;
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint;
- Ability to speak and deliver new hire information in front of a class in a clear and professional manner;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Strong business writing and document formatting skills;
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred - high school diploma required;
- 2 years of progressive HR and recruiting experience required;
- Experience with Paycom a plus.
Physical Requirement & Work Environment
- Work environment is usually in an office setting; must be able to make frequent rounds throughout the zoo;
- Must be able to view a computer screen and type for extended periods of time;
- Must be able to speak clearly to conduct phone screens and deliver new hire class content.
