What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager, Chapters & Engagement position at National Association of Tax Professionals?
The Chapter and Engagement Program Manager is the ambassador of the mission and vision of NATP through the local engagement and Chapter system and its Chapter leaders by providing regular transparent communication, counseling, networking, program development, leadership training, Chapter advocacy, and monitoring Chapter compliance in accordance with the non-profit rules of the organization. Overseeing all local engagement and chapter activity, including volunteer management, dissemination of information, and management reporting. Design, promote and implement programs that foster NATP’s strategic goals as they relate to local engagement.
What You Do
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

- Responsible for coordinating and nurturing, Chapter leader relations and communications; leadership training; volunteer development.
- Work closely with Director on diverse and complex issues that develop in the Chapter area.
- Coordinate all Chapter services and projects to ensure objectives and deadlines related to the organization’s Strategy are being met. Develop and monitor budget.
- Ensure Chapters are following the minimum requirements to include troubleshooting for those that are struggling. Provide counsel and guidance on Chapter adherence to bylaws.
- Plan, design, and conduct Chapter Leader training in live, eLearning, and virtual formats and Chapter recognition programs.
- · Responsible for the support services delivered to Chapters throughout the year including Chapter recognition programs, support for Chapter Annual Meetings, Chapter Quarterly Reports, and monitoring and modifying content on Chapter web pages.
- · Communicate with Chapters regularly about issues of concern and importance through regular communications utilizing multiple technologies.
- · Communicate Chapter volunteer changes or new issues in Chapters to all staff that will be affected in their daily tasks in dealing with Chapters.
- · Develop, oversee, and monitor progress on the NATP local engagement initiative by identifying education and events in states where currently no chapter exists.
- · Support NATP membership acquisition and retention goals through all local engagement efforts.
- · Work with Director to deliver effective and efficient member statistics reporting and surveys to Chapter leaders. Assist with membership recruitment activities at the Chapter level.
- Monitor workflow of Chapter staff and continually improve procedures and delivery of service as approved by Director. Maintain and develop the Chapter Event and CPE Registration Program.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance software proficiency with all facets of the Association Management System (AMS); MS Office & SharePoint and other training and development software to include live, virtual, and eLearning modalities.
- Basic proficiency in statistical presentation and database management.
- Other duties may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position and the overall betterment of the organization.
What You Bring
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with experience recruiting and motivating volunteers.
- Must be able to efficiently and effectively utilize technology to enhance service activities; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams and SharePoint a plus); Ability to learn proficiency in Association Management Software.
- Strong communications and relationship skills; ability to deal effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people and situations.
- Project management skills; highly organized, deadline driven, detail oriented, effective with time pressures, stress, and rapid change.
- Must be professional in appearance and demeanor. This is a highly visible position.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
