Responsibilities
Export Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee export production at our Liberal, Kansas; Dodge City, Kansas, and Tama, Iowa facilities. This position will be in Southwest Kansas.
Report directly to the Vice President of Operations
Work in conjunction with the National Beef Packing Chicago Office, facility general managers and the quality assurance team at each facility
Ensure consistency in the export process between all National Beef Packing facilities as in pertains to product specifications, quality and packaging
Cultivate customer relationships, confidence, and support for National Beef packing through quality products, order efficiency and customer service
Ensure export country, export program, federal and company requirements are met
Travel to National Beef Facilities and to meet with customers (international travel required)
Oversee customer visits to National Beef Packing facilities including dining, transportation, etc.
Oversee export product development
Develop and grow customer relationships and accounts
Provide customer service and ensure that customer needs are being met and resolved in a timely and efficient manner
Ongoing communication with National Beef Packing management teams, National Beef International teams, and customers as needed
Provide recommendations for improvements and lead specific projects to pursue excellence and innovation in various operations performed to improve service to customers
Ensures that all aspects of the food safety, HACCP and Government programs are adhered to with emphasis on the continued compliance to these programs; Ensure quality assurance department involvement in this process
- Other duties as assigned
This is a safety sensitive position. This is not a remote position.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates for the Export Manager position should possess the following:
- 3 to 5 years supervisory and/or management (leadership) experience in a meat packing (beef) facility (fabrication and/or slaughter)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Satisfactory safety and performance record with previous employers
- Willing and able to attend and successfully complete ongoing training programs as required
- Ability to work flexible and demanding hours
- Strong leadership skills, experience
- Ability to interpret relevant reports and information
- Computer proficient; specifically, Microsoft office programs
