Marketing Manager, Content Strategy
Location: San Diego (La Jolla/UTC)
Hybrid Position: Onsite 1 Day per Week
National Funding is continuing to grow its Marketing Department and has an exciting opportunity as Marketing Manager, Content Strategy. Reporting to the Director of Digital Marketing, the Marketing Manager, Content Strategy leads the development and management of all digital content (web/blog) supporting the SEO/Organic strategy as well as partner and guest blog opportunities. This role also oversees the National Funding brands; ensuring messaging/creative assets adhere to brand and compliance guidelines. This includes managing brand reputation and serving as main point of contact for PR programs.
Marketing Manager, Content Strategy Major Responsibilities:
Content Management:
- Design and implement brand-building content strategy for all owned and paid media assets including website, blog, social channels, and paid advertising.
- Establish the brand strategy and ensure the integrity of the brand across all company marketing communications initiatives, monitoring that the brand has a consistent look and voice, and that the brand is unique and differentiated in the marketplace.
- Oversee creative process from concept to production/execution (including but not limited to: website content/design, animations, videos, display ads, social content and blog content)
- Manage website content to ensure optimal performance from a user experience perspective, with a focus on lead conversion.
- Create and maintain digital content calendar.
- Manage content and copywriters to ensure keyword-driven and informative SEO- optimized copy that aligns with the brand voice.
- Manage graphic designer(s), in related projects to ensure compelling and relevant creative optimized for audience, channel and device.
- Strategically repurpose content for different mediums/channels.
- Collaborate with channel owners across marketing and throughout the organization on areas including reputation management, SEO, web development, offline marketing, creative design, social media, email, public relations and internal communications.
- Manage partnerships with third-party agencies to ensure content quality and brand integrity is maintained.
- Partner with Analytics team to evaluate performance data and KPIs for all content programs.
National Funding and QuickBridge Blogs:
- Develop and evolve a blog content strategy that supports SEO program.
- Oversee content agency/platform and manage the blog content calendar, deliverables and publishing schedule.
- Proofread/edit all content from contributors before it is published on the blog.
- Analyze & improve blog results in support of organic channel, subscriber growth and reach, along with customer experience KPIs.
Brand and Public Relations:
- Collaborate with marketing team to oversee creative and messaging to ensure on brand and within compliance guidelines
- Monitor and manage customer reviews and brand reputation on all platforms
- Serve as a point person for PR firm(s) to develop external communications. As needed:
- Drive the overall strategy for PR – proactively work with our outside vendors to navigate our opportunities.
- Plan, create and execute the release of external and internal messaging
Social Media:
- Manage social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram) to increase followers, engagement and new leads
The Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field preferred
- 5-7 years of marketing background (B2B or financial industry experience a plus); with content management, creative and/or brand experience required
- Experience in managing creative agencies/talent and leading creative projects and campaigns from concept to launch
- Excellent project management skills to initiate, plan, and execute projects from start to finish with ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to oversee, multi-task and juggle multiple projects and processes
- Strong communication skills – verbal, written and presentation
- Ability to demonstrate analytical skills with data-driven thinking to drive business results
- Strong problem solving abilities to identify issues and quickly respond with solutions
- A collaborative personality and team player with experience working in a team environment with marketing managers, a creative team, and x-functional partners in order to consistently drive results
- Exceptional attention to detail in order to catch small mistakes and master proofreading/editing
- A proactive and driven nature and intellectual curiosity to independently learn and develop ideas
