The GIS Conversion Analyst is responsible for the conversion and configuration of E&O (Engineering and Operations) GIS geodatabases. You will also be responsible for collaborating with the team to understand and fulfill needs to automate processes to extract, transform, load and validate data.
Essential Duties:
- Perform basic to moderate level research, design and conversion of Member/Customer data to NISC platforms.
- Perform basic conversion fixes regarding data issues for Member/customers and recommends changes or enhancements as directed.
- Assist with basic data analysis and mapping to translate into sound conversion approaches.
- Follow all established conversion methodologies and guidelines.
- Perform basic quality testing including data validation, verification and balancing.
- Perform frequent communication with internal and external team and project stakeholders.
- Ensure that all information is appropriately entered and utilized in NISC’s internal issue tracking tool.
- Perform work duties outside of regular business hours, on an as needed basis, to meet internal and/or customer needs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:
- Basic level knowledge of business-related software applications and services.
- Basic level knowledge of the Utility and Telecom industries.

- Knowledge of basic RUS construction unit naming conventions.
- Basic level knowledge of variety of spatial data formats and RDBMS’s.
- Basic level technical scripting abilities.
- Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Generally requires three to five years of experience in geographic information software systems and applications to include ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD or other mapping systems. Experience with electric distribution systems and telecom a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a professional field (GIS, Geography or information technology preferred) or equivalent experience.
