Position Summary
Coordinates National Jewish Health’s regional efforts to identify, cultivate and solicit donor prospects capable of giving major, capital, endowment, annual or fundraising events support. Works with trustees or other volunteers and creates and implements strategies for donor cultivation and engagement, cultivation events, fundraising events, major gifts, planned giving and other regional activities.

Essential Duties

  • Manages and develops an effective staff: providing effective communication, leadership, guidance and resources. Determines staff qualifications and competency: recruits, interviews, selects, trains, orients, mentors, evaluates, coaches, motivates, counsels, disciplines, and rewards. Leads team by example. Establishes and monitors staff safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops activity plans and implements overall strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors as assigned by region.
  • Develops strategies to meet or exceed all budgeted revenue goals.
  • Cultivates donor relationships through telephone, written (letters, invitations, applications, proposals, etc.) and high level of personal contact. Follows-up to finalize all donations.
  • Researches present and prospective donors to determine philanthropic capacity. Develops new leadership to serve as National Jewish Trustees or volunteers. Develops plans for securing donations from new sources.
  • Develops program budgets and is responsible for compliance.
  • Documents all donor contacts in compliance with National Jewish Health Development procedures.
  • Maintains donor files and accounts as assigned to them.
  • Acts as a knowledgeable and positive Institutional representative.

Supervisory or Managerial Responsibility
Manages 1 – 5 employees.

Travel
20 to 30% local and national travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years recent and related fundraising experience required.
  • Special Training, Certification or Licensure: Additional training in development and non-profit management preferred.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000

Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
