The Manager, Healthcare Stakeholder Engagement leads the development and management of healthcare provider and other healthcare stakeholder relationships focused on improving access to high quality, affordable healthcare for people affected by MS. This work includes identifying gaps in care with a focus on health equity, provider education and workforce development, increasing referrals to the Society, and partnering with healthcare stakeholders to improve health outcomes for people with MS. The Manager will oversee a portfolio of stakeholder relationships in multiple states and market areas. This role will consistently work across functions and maintain a high level of communication across the Society to ensure alignment of work and continuous learning. The Manager must maintain a current knowledge of MS, treatments, management, and research and participate in ongoing healthcare access and Society trainings and professional development.
This position will oversee a portfolio of relationships in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Montana.
- Build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and other healthcare stakeholders to improve healthcare and health outcomes for people with MS.
- Implement centrally vetted tools and resources to strategically identify, prioritize and strengthen healthcare stakeholder relationships.
- Identify, develop and manage a comprehensive portfolio of high-volume MS clinicians and other key opinion leaders involved in MS care and treatment.
- Identify and expand relationships with other healthcare stakeholders to increase and improve access to personalized, affordable, high-quality healthcare for people with MS.
- Track healthcare stakeholder interactions and measure the impact of outreach and support for people affected by MS and healthcare stakeholders.
- Use data to inform decisions and strategies.
- Identify gaps in access to MS care. Collaborate with staff and volunteer leaders to develop strategies to address these gaps.
- Partner as staff liaison to a Healthcare Provider Council.
- Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and understanding of healthcare systems and provider needs.
- Promote and identify opportunities to share Society initiatives with healthcare providers and people living with MS.
- Actively participate in project teams to meet deliverables and timelines to accomplish work efficiently and effectively.
Workforce Education and Development (25%)
- Identify and promote appropriate workforce development opportunities to further educate healthcare stakeholders about MS and the Society.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Innovation team to implement strategies to promote workforce development opportunities for current and future healthcare providers, including clinical fellowships, medical student mentorships and more.
- Identify and share appropriate education opportunities, tools and resources for healthcare providers.
- Represent the Society at public speaking engagements such as in-services and other training opportunities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities (5%)
- Attend/actively engage in training, professional development, conferences and staff meetings.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of all Society information systems.
- Implement and follow National MS Society risk management policies and procedures.
- Actively take part in local market events and activities supporting Society priorities and local staff and volunteers.
- Contribute to team meetings, provide support and feedback to colleagues.
- Utilize matrix management techniques to foster relationships with local market leaders.
