NDT Inspector

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Performs NDT level II inspections per company procedures
• Performs visual and dimensional inspection of raw materials, parts, components, WIP, and finished products within all degrees of complexity
• Reads and interprets applicable codes, standards, structural drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, and written procedures
• Understands company goals and objectives
• Tags, controls, documents, and segregates items
• Makes accept/reject decisions.
• Generates / reviews inspection reports
• Initiates discrepancy reports and holds notices
• Ensures materials and parts are not irregular or damaged, and they are within specified quality and performance tolerance levels.
• Performs sample lot inspections and testing
• Reviews, approves, and maintains documentation and relevant records
• Suggest possible changes/corrections to processes or equipment to prevent recurring problems
• Follows all company policies and procedures
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment
• Proactively participates in Company Safety Program.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required, preferably in an Oil & Gas field
• Hardness Testing – experience required
• Level II NDT certification – VT, LP, MP, and UT required
• Dimensional Inspection experience is required
• CWI – knowledge required, and certification preferred
• Phased Array – experience and certification preferred

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified to perform ASNT TC-1A – UT, MP & PT Level II testing
• Competent at performing Brinnell Hardness tests
• Competent at performing dimensional inspections
• Competent in auditing routers for signoff and completion
• Competent at reading and creating NDE test reports
• Understands geometric tolerances
• Competent at reading and interpreting engineering drawings, written procedures, and specifications
• Familiar with process control tools and manufacturing process evaluation
• Able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
• Able to solve practical problems and handle variable situations
• Good written and verbal communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Standing, bending, sitting, lifting up to 30lbs., squatting, and walking for 8 to 10 hours per da.
• Safety –Must wear required personal protective equipment when in designated areas.
