This position supports the Wellness and Resilience Branch of the National Park Service and may be performed remotely. ? The NPS Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55 ) to the NPS to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ? NPS ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 52 weeks. ? A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30 hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ? The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the NPS or NOWCC. NOWCC is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under NPS direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. NPS ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Program Analysis/Management OR BA/BS Degree in Mental health, social work, or wellness-related field preferred but not required

  • While this position will not involve working directly with employees in distress, compassion and sensitivity to trauma are required attributes. Experience developing programmatic materials and analyzing processes desired. Experience working in the areas of mental health and/or workplace wellness preferred.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Microsoft Teams
Duties:

Enhance effectiveness and efficiencies of processes and procedures in implementing a national program to provide mental health support to employees and develop site-specific wellness programs.

  • Review, propose recommendations to improve efficiency, and solicit feedback from stakeholders in the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Program.   25%
  • Develop foundational program materials for the CISM, including researching existing programs/models, soliciting input from stakeholders, proposing recommendations, sorting through responses and other stakeholders? feedback, and putting together forms and other documents.   30%
  • Document finalized processes, protocols, and other programmatic elements to the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Program (including but not limited to application process for new CISM peers).    15%
  • Research and develop content supporting worksite wellness programs at parks.   15%
  • Organize program materials for various stakeholders (e.g. NPS population, current CISM peers, perspective CISM peers).    5%
  • Maintain updated roster of CISM peers.   5%
  • Other administrative duties for the Wellness & Resilience Branch and Office of Risk Management.   5%

  • Physical requirements: Work is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment.
