What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Sonographer (PRN) position at National Park Medical Center?
Must be a High School graduate or equivalent. Work is of medium demand requiring standing and walking, and operation of equipment. Basic medical terminology is preferred. Must be comfortable in a surgical setting. Basic computer skills are required. Must be able to take call on weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Patient population served is above 18 thru geriatric. Recognizes the normal signs (growth and development) of the patient populations indicated above and understands the requirements of assessment, treatment, and care of the specific age group.
CORE SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Prepare and maintains ECHO Suite for daily activities
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other examination
- Transports patients, prepares patients for proper examinations
- Performs Cardiac techniques and examinations
- Maintains quality control checks in accordance with policy/maintenance requirements, ensures clean and safe working environment
- Cleans and performs daily maintenance of equipment
- Maintains required educational requirements to perform duties, assists in preparation for inspections by JCAHO
- Performs clerical and patient charge duties
- Collaborates with hospital personnel and physicians to ensure optimal patient care and promote a positive working environment
