This is a career seasonal position located in Minidoka National Historic Site, in the Interpretation and Education Division.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40 hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level (Note: Clerk, Assistant or Technician work in a single grade occupational series at the GS-05 level does NOT qualify for this position, however GS-06 level may) in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience MUST include: (1) Independently developing and presenting education programs to school groups; (2) Teaching others; (3) Serving as a representative for community outreach. Responsibilities:
This is a Career-Seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. As such, selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year based on project requirements or weather conditions. Selectee is guaranteed to work at least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year. While in pay status, work schedule is full-time. The typical season for this position is 8 months from March through October. Non-pay is approximately: November - February but may be shortened if additional work/funding exists during this timeframe to have the employee work the max of 25 pay periods.MAJOR DUTIES:
- Prepare and present a variety of interpretive programs.
- Develop and present curriculum-based educational opportunities to K-12 students both in the park and off-site in schools around the region.
- Train, coach, and mentor others.
- Coordinate the operation of a visitor facility and information desk.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors during all types of weather.
