NRE is searching for a Safety Coordinator to work in our Paducah, KY facility!
The Safety Coordinator assures the Paducah facility is following policy and procedures and they are communicated with all employees. They will also aid in department goals and ensure that safety objectives are consistently achieved.
We are looking for someone who has great attendance and punctuality, as well as a positive attitude and problem-solving skills.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Provided safety and compliance training at
- Conduct safety inspections and investigate violations to ensure safety procedures are being followed and counsel managers and employees accordingly
- Coordinate the activities of the department heads to achieve the same goal on safety measures
- Investigated accidents and developed plans to avoid the occurrence of the same
- Monitoring the use, storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals and materials
- Maintain worker training schedules and complete all required regulatory documentation
- Participate in training
- Understand the OSHA regulatory information and be able to implement the standard
- Be able to work and keep calm and professional in stressful situations at times
- Be able to administer First Aid to employees if needed
- Have a good interaction with employees and able to enforce regulation professionally
- Manage all departmental functions such that goals and objectives are consistently achieved
- Adhere to company policies, procedures and ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the department
- Fully embrace NRE’s quality system to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
- Promotes a safe and clean work environment by keeping work area neat, complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Keep all environmental records and inspections up to date
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum four (4) year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Occupational Safety and Health or similar. Will consider non-degreed individual with experience in industry
- Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, hones and thorough
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication and networking skills are required
- Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis
- Exceptionally high level of commitment to the success of individuals and overall projects
- Management style that complements NRE’s long standing culture of high integrity throughout all areas of internal and external business activity
- Willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed
- Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
- Work Authorization: Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required. No relocation is offered
Work Environment:
- Work in an office environment, as well as a shop environment
- Very little travel expected
