Overview
The Summer Intern serves in an eight-week capacity and is responsible for helping with departmental tasks, ad-hoc requests and is actively involved with unit or organization-wide projects. Interns work closely with NCH staff and leaders to conduct research, capture data, attend meetings and develop and implement new processes and initiatives while helping achieve best outcomes for the hospital.

Responsibilities
- Gathers and analyzes data. Runs pre-defined queries and formats reports as appropriate.
- Compiles and builds presentation materials to support projects, showcase new initiatives, report data findings or other related information.
- Attends weekly group development sessions and actively participates in all NCH intern events.
- Applies strategic, system-level thinking and operational excellence techniques for problem solving.
- Performs some clerical office coordination and administrative tasks as needed.
- Collaborates directly with manager and provides recommendations to improve department or business unit.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school student or graduate.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate accredited university.
- 4 accumulative GPA Rising junior or senior actively pursuing degree in Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Tech, Data Analysis, Statistics Health Information Management, Biological Sciences, Business Operations or Hospital Administration.
Required Experience:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
- Sound written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work within teams and maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
- Demonstrates sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions
- Displays a positive presence and interacts with all levels of staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians.
- Previous work experience preferred.
