What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Engineer position at Natron Energy?
Natron is seeking a Test Engineer to support the development and test of our high-power battery systems for data center UPS and EV charging applications. The occupant of this position will work with the Product Engineering, Reliability, Technology, and Operations teams to develop test plans and methods, design test fixtures, and generate instructions for the use, calibration, and maintenance of those test platforms, among other duties.
This position requires extensive hands-on work and a do-whatever-it-takes attitude to get the job done. Position level and compensation commensurate with experience and background.
\n- Design and verify test fixtures and data loggers for long-term and abuse testing of finished products and components
- Communicate equipment requirements to Test Equipment Manager for procurement
- Develop test methodology, infra-structure, and data tracking for long-term and abuse testing for PCB boards that comprise Battery Management Systems, and mechanical and electro-mechanical components of battery systems
- Support development of new products and updated components through testing
- Establish in-line test method and specification to ensure the production of reliable product
- Generate standard operating procedures for the use, calibration, and maintenance of Reliability Engineering equipment such as test fixtures, data loggers, and test chambers
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related science or engineering field
- Minimum 2 years of experience as mechanical, electronics, and / or test engineer
- Strong experience developing and writing test plans
- Familiarity with Python and LabView
- Experience with mechanical modeling of fixtures and components for ordering parts
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong experience analyzing data
- Care and meticulousness when working with samples and when entering data
- A positive and team-first attitude
- Comfort in working at a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and move equipment and products (assistive lifts available for heavier items)
- Testing battery cells or other electronic devices
- Working with electro-mechanical products
- High voltage items and batteries
- Working with thermal chambers
- Working with UL or any NRTL compliance agencies.
- This is a regular, full time position.
- Employees must work on site in Santa Clara.
- Compensation is competitive with other Bay Area Test Engineering positions.

- The salary range for this position is a minimum of $109,000 and a maximum of $115,000 annually.
