What are the responsibilities and job description for the MA Float position at NAU Urology Specialists?
Our Medical Practice is currently looking for a MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our Team! This will be your choice for full or part time. Must be able to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and be willing to travel to 3 locations. South Austin, Round Rock and North Austin.
Position Description
- Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Provider (MD or PA)
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information in patients' charts
- May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Handle prescription authorizations and denials
- Schedule management and prep
- Facilitate communication and needs between Patient and Provider
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Preferred but not required - 1 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical clinic setting
- BLS certification required upon hire and must be kept current throughout employment
- Spanish preferred but not required
