Job Description:
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Safety Auditor at the The Naval Reactors Facility (NRF). The Site Assessment team is looking for an auditor who desires to use their investigative skills to improve NRF by identifying performance trends and valuable process improvements. In this position you will be interacting with NRF staff management, other NNL auditors, and Naval Reactors Idaho Branch Office representatives, creating a unique opportunity for professional development and growth.
As a member of the NRF Site Assessment group, you will be evaluating performance in topical areas related to the safety and health programs.
In support of these evaluations, as an auditor you will:
Observe work in progress
Conduct interviews
Review records
Inspect site facilities
Conduct formal audit in-briefs and out-briefs
Follow up on previously identified problems
Author and publish reports documenting findings, observations, and improvement recommendations
The auditor must:
Work independently on projects
Meet strict schedules and deadlines
Serve as a member of an audit team and support team projects
Balance multiple duties and responsibilities simultaneously, including collateral duties that are essential to the proper operation of the group
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical for this position. You will frequently communicate with workers and managers at all levels in the organization, and the selected candidate must be able to clearly and succinctly express their ideas and conclusions.

Advanced:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience; or
Master’s degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years relevant experience
Senior:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years relevant experience; or
Master’s degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years relevant experience
