Trainer/Instructor

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a highly motivated Trainer/Instructor to join our Operations Training and Services team in beautiful upstate NY!

The Trainer/Instructor will perform a variety of work relating to the development, delivery and administration of safety training as specified by local publications derived from OSHA General Industry and OSHA Construction Industry, along with NFPA 70E and various ANSI standards and other applicable regulations. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to coordinate with instructors both locally and across the NNL program to Advance Safety, Teamwork and Learning. As part of this role, the selected candidate with also conduct initial and continuing training on various topics such as Elevated work, Lock-out tag-out, Excavation, Electrical Safety, Respiratory Protection, Silica Controls, Lead Controls and additional safety and Industrial hygiene topics. Advanced:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or
• Master’s degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
• Currently or previously NPE qualified or CTE/ACRS and one year of EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
• Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and one year as SRE

Senior:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experience; or
• Master’s degree in a degree in a technical, engineering or science-related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or
• Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified or EDO and two years as EOOW in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
• Three years as SRE plus Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only) or SRE qualified and six years of experience
