What are we seeking?
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Category Manager Intern to join our dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in category management. This position is based out of Mettawa, IL.
Summary of Position:
As a Category Manager Intern, you will support the Category Management team in optimizing product assortments, analyzing market trends, and developing strategies to drive growth within specific product categories. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, gain valuable industry insights, and contribute to strategic initiatives.
Time commitment:
3 months Intern/Hybrid Co-op
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Assist in analyzing market data to inform category strategies.
- Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze sales data, inventory levels, and product performance metrics. Assist in generating reports and presentations for the Category Management team.
- Category Strategy Support: Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies to optimize product assortments and maximize profitability.
- Project Assistance: Participate in special projects related to category management, including new product launches, and promotional activities.
Internship project opportunities:
- Operate in a global teaming model
- Supporting current products and launching new products in a diverse product portfolio
- Actively participate in the robust process of launching a new product in the market and assist with creating promotional activities that out stand the competition
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience: Previous internship or relevant experience in retail, marketing, or supply chain management is a plus but not required.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn. A team player with a positive attitude and a passion for category management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- The ability to coordinate numerous projects in a professional and ethical manner
- Previous experience in manufacturing setting preferred
- Working knowledge of appropriate engineering principles.
- Must be a self-starter capable of working both independently, as well as part of a team
- Must be willing to work more than 40 hours per week periodically to complete the job
