ROLE: 

Verify loan documents received for funding from indirect dealer partners. Accurately audit and fund new indirect loans and membership accounts.


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 

  • Perform audits of all indirect dealer loan packets including contract balancing, verification of VIN, miles, value, trade information, borrower’s information and approval all match from system to paperwork and all loan stipulations are met. Ensure that all forms are received and appropriately signed by dealer and member. Review paperwork is sufficient to ensure Navigator CU is placed as lienholder and will receive title. Reduce risk to the Credit Union by identifying items that appear to be inconsistent or suspected of being fraudulent in nature.


  • Process payment of loan proceeds and dealer flats in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that the funded loans in the LOS (Meridianlink) and the Core system (Symitar) balance daily. Work with accounting department to ensure EFT records are accurate and up to date and that funds are sent out daily.


  • Conduct courtesy calls to Dealers and members as needed to verify that all required information is complete and correct. Work with Loan officers to verify any changes in loan terms are approved prior to funding including verification of income and addition of backend products are approved and notated. Bring any suspicious misconduct by dealers or loan officers to the attention of management to reduce risk to credit union. Bring documents that appear to be fraudulent or loan decisions that appear to be outside the scope of the program to the attention of management.


  • New indirect account opening: Ensure all new indirect accounts are processed in accordance within state, federal and credit union compliance standards. Ensure due diligence procedures are followed. Mail out new welcome letters and disclosures to new indirect members. Provide all new account and loan documents to Optical department for imaging.


  • Misc. Reporting and record keeping. Process Dealer chargeback of reserves monthly, process monthly indirect reports. Mail out adverse action notices daily. Set up and maintain new dealer records. Process other vendor loan applications (currently Singing River Hospital loans). Supply ordering as needed.


  • Maintain accurate records of incoming indirect funding packages, ensuring that the loan is documented along each step of the process including fund delays, records of communication regarding attempts to resolve fund delays, records of loan officer notes and review process and in the event that a loan packet will be returned a tracking record of the returned packet.


  • Answer inquiries and advise members of other products and services offered by the financial institution. Maintain good working relationship with indirect dealers and internal loan officers.


  • Periodically help process promotional loan vouchers.

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.


EXPERIENCE: 

Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.


EDUCATION:  

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting; walking; bending; squatting; kneeling; pushing/pulling; reaching; twisting; frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs.; occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.


MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
