Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Plant Manager will have the primary responsibility for managing all aspects of production across all shifts for United Presort's single pass, letter size, USPS Marketing Mail, commingle operation. This key position will create a production environment that is focused on customer's needs while achieving business results. This role will be responsible for the productivity and profitability of the entire plant. The plant manager must have a personality and attitude that creates an environment where employees enjoy coming to work every day.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Shift Managers and supervisors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure the subordinate shift mangers, supervisors and leads are effectively utilizing machine resources to achieve maximum productivity with minimal downtime.
• Oversee the hiring, training, and oversight of a staff of approximately 50 people across 2 shifts.
• Ensure schedules for employees are being created for optimum staffing levels.
• Provide motivation, support, and guidance to all employees.
• Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management.
• Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity throughout the production department.
• Ensure logistics for inbound and outbound shipments are coordinated.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience in manufacturing operations.
• 2 years' experience in a supervisory capacity.

Physical Requirements: (Example Below)

• Prolonged periods of standing throughout each shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Minimal travel anticipated; may consist of auto and air travel.
