Description: This position requires expertise in performing vascular ultrasound examinations using a Philips machine. The Ultrasound Tech will conduct general diagnostic procedures under the general direction of physicians and radiologists, adhering to departmental protocols and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Perform vascular ultrasound procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure quality imaging.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and make adjustments as needed.
- Document findings accurately and generate reports for physician review.
- Provide patient education regarding procedures and ensure patient comfort.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Tech specializing in vascular procedures - Required
- BLS certification - Required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification - Required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with NT (Nuchal Translucency) exams
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) - Adult
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) - Pediatrics
- RCS (Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer)
- RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist)
- Rhode Island state licensure or willingness to obtain
