Basic Purpose
To plan, manage and direct the multi-function operations of the Credit Card Products team. Drive the acquisition, retention and engagement of credit card holders. Lead efforts to enhance Navy Federal’s credit card product suite, optimize and stimulate cardholder spending and drive the addition of value-added features and functionality. Implement plans to achieve growth, servicing, and loss mitigation goals and objectives. Serve as subject matter expert regarding branch functions, systems, policies and procedures. Support executive management in developing and executing strategic plans. May act as VP in the incumbent’s absence.
Responsibilities
• Develop team strategy, establish priorities, and set goals; evaluate and implement standards to ensure alignment with department/organizational strategy
• Oversee development of credit card acquisition strategy to expand the portfolio, increase card usage and improve return on assets
• Oversee the loyalty and engagement strategy to drive continue cardholder engagement including product enhancements and program expenses
• Implement projects supporting new credit card products and services; ensure objectives, timelines and budget are met
• Manage member experience initiatives and recommend changes to products and features to align with corporate objectives and meet goals
• Collaborate with internal business partners to analyze portfolio and implement relevant policies and procedures
• Provide overall leadership to large strategic projects and/or programs and ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation by working horizontally across the enterprise
• Oversee benchmarking and trend analysis to drive continuous improvement and improve acquisition efficiency, increase member experience quality, generate revenue, minimize financial risk, and maintain high operational efficiency
• Manage network relationships and agreements to ensure maximizing value to Navy Federal, appropriate apportionment of third-party marketing funds, implement projects supporting new credit card products and services; ensure timelines and objectives are met
• Establish and maintain effective vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, ensure adherence to service level agreements, and identify additional product strategies and opportunities
• Lead change management efforts, cross-functional initiatives and department/organization projects
• Oversee the preparation of reports and presentations for executive management
• Provide forward thinking expertise in current and emerging trends, technologies and practices
• Collaborate with other business units and Compliance to assess and support organization risk mitigation needs by developing strategies, tactics, and quality review solutions
• Maintain thorough knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and Navy Federal policies and procedures
• Oversee training and development programs for staff; evaluate training programs to ascertain effectiveness
• Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilities
• Set direction to ensure goals and objectives align with corporate and division strategy
• Select management and other key personnel; oversee talent development/succession planning
• Collaborate with leadership/executive colleagues to develop and execute corporate initiatives and department strategy
• Oversee the preparation and execution of division’s Annual Financial Plan
•Manage merit pay in accordance with specified objectives and guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Significant progressively responsible experience in leading and managing a credit card products, preferably in a large financial services organization, including operational and regulatory risks and controls
• Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations governing credit card lending and risk management
• Advanced knowledge of, and significant experience in credit union and/or retail banking operations
• Expert knowledge of credit card products, services, processes, procedures and related legislation
• Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products and services
• Advanced knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis and operations research, including statistical methods and modeling
• Advanced leadership skills, marked by poise, positive influence, and the ability to drive change
• Advanced problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skills
• Advanced skill leading with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence
• Advanced analytical/quantitative, reconciliation and deductive reasoning skills
• Advanced skill in project management to include establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation
• Expert skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions

• Expert skill identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions

• Significant experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
• Expert verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Advanced database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills (e.g., Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.
