What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canteen Operator position at Navy Region Northwest?
The Canteen Operator is responsible for the operation of a food service facility (canteen) OR a mobile food truck servicing various government work sites located within PSNS & IMF and NBK/Bremerton.
Summary of Duties:
- Open and secure facility (canteen OR mobile truck).
- Operate a cash register according to standard cash control procedures.
- Requisition, stocking and accounting of inventory.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards.
- Perform daily routine cleaning for a sanitary operation.
- May assist in production department. Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Six months of experience as a Cashier. Current Washington State Food Handlers card and valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required. Must be reliable and able to communicate in English.
Conditions of Employment: Light to moderate physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves objects. Dollies and loading carts are available when needed. Long periods of time on your feet. Successful completion of National Agency (NACI) background check is required.. As required by Executive Order 14043, Federal employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee’s duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law.
