Deputy Director- ARP Services

The North Carolina League of Municipalities has an exciting position opening for a Deputy Director of America Rescue Plan (ARP) Services. This is a newly created position in which the ideal candidate will serve as an active liaison to our League members, providing guidance and technical assistance related to the spending of local American Rescue Plan funds. Serving under the direction of the Chief ARP Officer, this position is a part of a team that ensures full League compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations as it relates to the ARP program.
What You Will Be Doing:
The Deputy Director- ARP Services will play an active role in the hiring, development, and oversight of field consultants throughout the state. This involves creating job descriptions, advertising, recruiting, and supervising team members in the field. As such, this position will be required to establish metrics to measure performance levels of staff in the field, demonstrating effectiveness and positive results for our member municipalities.
Additional Duties Include:
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 5-7 years’ experience working in a state or local government, in positions of increasing responsibility. Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline, such as public administration or public policy. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with ARP funding including a knowledge of statues and regulations related to proper compliance with the program. Experience in the administration of federal or state grant funds is preferred.
