What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Intern position at ND Paper?

We are an environmentally friendly company that manufactures various types of high-quality pulp, paper and paper-based packaging materials. Our mills in Rumford, Maine and Biron Wisconsin are integrated paper & pulp facilities, and our mill in Fairmont, West Virginia is one of only three in the world that produces air-dried, recycled pulp. Our fourth mill in Old Town, ME produces softwood kraft pulp. We are proud of our 1400 dedicated employees, who together produce more than 1.2 million short tons of pulp & paper annually.
The Legal Intern is a temporary part of the ND Legal team and will last from May through August 2023. The Legal Intern will work under the direction of the General Counsel while also assisting the Legal Department’s Contract Specialist and Administrative Assistant. The Legal Intern will be responsible for special projects as assigned by the General Counsel. This is a paid, temporary, full-time, non-benefited, hourly position. The core hours of the position will be 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; however, some overtime may be necessary from time-to-time. The Legal Intern will be required to report onsite to ND Paper’s corporate office in Oak Brook, IL Monday through Friday and may involve travel to ND Paper’s other operations in Wisconsin, Maine and West Virginia.

Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Current enrollment, and at least one year’s completion of study (at the time of the internship), at an ABA accredited law school in the U.S. (two year’s completion is preferred)
- Experience working in a corporate environment (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
