What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Privacy position at Near?
Near is a data intelligence company, enabling its customers to use its software Platform to better understand consumer online and offline behavior. It is seeking a senior Head of Global Privacy to help the company on privacy strategy, product design and compliance. This is a global, growth role for a collaborative and high-energy professional. This role reports directly to the Near General Counsel and location can bePasadena CA or San Francisco CA, though expect that the role will be hybrid office/remote.
Qualifications Experience:
- 8 years privacy and data leadership experience in corporations, consulting firms and/or law firms
- Expertise in privacy and global data, as well as related law and business trends
- Exposure to machine learning and AI
- understanding of software and SaaS transactions
- Experience of strategy of business (global preferred)
- desire to expand career from privacy expertise into data and other global risk and compliance areas
- eager collaborator, but also confident and independent
- curious and driven to identify opportunities for improvement
- highly organized and able to use software and collaboration tools like Trello, Box, Word, Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint
- able to travel 10% of time

KNOW
- GDPR

- InfoSec (ISO 27001, etc)
TEACH
- PowerPoint and Keynote proficient
- clear speaking and presentation skills
DESIGN
- comfort advising product leaders on compliant product design
STRUCTURE
- Review, structure and negotiate contract terms and clauses
- advise on contract gaps/needs and how to fix
- Review and draft corporate policies
Compensation:
- Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 bonus RSUs
