Position Summary
Manage all proposal related duties by taking ownership of the process and ensuring the compliance and integrity of all proposal requirements for the solutions business. This position will work with both internal and external customers in providing quality and accurate proposals ensuring that that customer success is the primary goal. Cooperate with others to uphold NECs Total Customer Commitment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads the proposal process ensuring that every member of the pursuit team, including sales leads, operational subject matter experts, estimating, pricing, solution team members know what is expected of him/her and when tasks are due.
- Works closely with sales and estimating to ensure deliverables of the proposal are completed.
- Reads, reviews, and dissects requests for proposals (RFPs) in accordance with Proposal Management processes and procedures.
- Organize and drive proposal kick-off meeting ensuring that all key stakeholders are involved.
- Create documents to effectively communicate our value position and technical elements.
- Take 'bullet points' from others and then write up RFP responses; translate complicated ideas into language easily understood by others.
- Responsible for accurate financials that support commercial response.
- Capture, shape, and synthesize information to reflect a cohesive message, written to convey one solution.
- Write, edit, and format proposal deliverable
- Ensures customer (internal and external) questions/problems are brought to a swift and satisfactory resolution
- Cultivate critical relationships across the organization in various departments, including sales, marketing, product, operations, customer success, and professional services organization.
- Ensures full utilization of tools available to continually raise bar for accuracy of proposals and efficiency in their generation.
- Maintains a schedule of events while keeping on target with deadlines/due dates. Reports progress to Proposal Manager.
- Identify areas for content creation and process improvement
- Maintains competency on the current Emerson systems, products, and services
- Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility. Has the authority to stop those work processes at any time it is believed that quality is being compromise
- Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

- Must be current authorized to work in the United States
Preferred qualifications:
- Salesforce CRM / CPQ
- Solid research and proposal writing experience.
- Demonstrated success in responding to RFPs.
- B.S. Degree in Business or equivalent work experience
- Two years of successful sales, and/or inside sales experience in the automation / controls industry.
- Knowledge of controls and instruments is a plus.
