SUMMARY
The Part Time Accountant is responsible for the preparation of financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, which include the following:
General Finance and Accounting
· Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
· Record financial transactions using the general ledger.
· Work with current accounting firm to provide needed information and documents.
· Process weekly expense reports and reconcile credit card accounts for Outside Sales Team.
· Manage sales tax policy and procedures; request tax information from customers.
· Monitor inventory adjustments.
Legal Compliance
· Provide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by staying current with new legislation and advising management on needed actions.
System Improvements
· As appropriate, coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
· Create annual budgeting system.
Additional Duties as Assigned
· Participate in contract negotiations with credit card vendors.
· Provide support/ backup for Payroll and Commission payment processes.
· Other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Competencies

- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Ability to understand and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong Excel skills
- Must pass a background check
Education and Experience
· 3 years of accounting experience required
· Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred
